Hardy Sattler is a distinguished Titled APA Sports Physiotherapist and Honorary Adjunct Assistant Professor at Bond University. Hardy served as a Consultant Sports Physiotherapist for the Gold Coast Titans NRL from 2007-2017 and Physiotherapist for the Gold Coast Suns AFL from 2009 - 2012. Hardy has been the Vice President of Sports Medicine Australia and has worked as a Sports Physiotherapist for many national, state and local teams, with extensive international touring experience to several World Championships with the Australian Baseball Team. Hardy possesses over 20 years of Private Practice experience and is a current Director of Pindara Physiotherapy and Sports Medicine, Bond Physiotherapy and Sports Medicine and Palm Beach Physio and Sports Rehab. 

Kate O'Connell

Kate O'Connell, a Titled Sports and Exercise Physiotherapist, brings 15 years of experience to her practice. Specialising in musculoskeletal conditions, Kate has a special interest in treating lower back, pelvic, and hip issues, as well as complex shoulder presentations. Kate is a contractor to the Queensland Academy of Sport, looking after the Australian Sprint Kayak and Paracanoe teams as they head towards Paris 2024. Additionally, Kate holds qualifications in strength and conditioning and Clinical Pilates.

Jedda Kennedy

Jedda Kennedy is a dedicated physiotherapist with a Masters in Physiotherapy and Exercise Science. Her expertise spans musculoskeletal, sports, surgical, and paediatric conditions. With a background in hockey and triathlon, Jedda excels in orthopaedic post-surgical rehab, hands-on therapies, hydrotherapy, and treating young adults and children. As a mother of three, she balances family life with a love for Pilates, cycling, and altitude training. Shannon Gill

Shannon Gill, an enthusiastic physiotherapist, studied at Bond University, completing a Bachelors of Exercise & Sport Science and a Doctor of Physiotherapy. She has been part of the Bond University Rugby Club since 2018 and currently serves as the Women XV’s and 7’s Physiotherapist. Shannon has worked as a dedicated paediatric physiotherapist assessing and treating children with injuries or developmental disorders. With extensive experience across multiple sports she has expertise in treating sporting injuries, collaborating with clients to create individualised rehabilitation plans.

Adrian Kan

Adrian Kan, a Physiotherapist with a Doctor of Physiotherapy degree and a BSC (Hons) in Sport & Exercise Science, has a special interest in musculoskeletal physiotherapy, particularly knee osteoarthritis. Born in Hong Kong, Adrian gained valuable knowledge working with the Hong Kong National Rugby Team and the Gold Coast District Representative Rugby Team.   Additionally, Adrian actively contributes to research projects, and teaches at Bond University, while collaborating with Gold Coast Knee Group in assisting athletes with knee injuries.

Matt Cristini

Ankle and Foot Conditions

Matt Cristini, a skilled physiotherapist, boasts diverse experience in sports and hospital-based rehabilitation. His dedication to optimal patient outcomes spans the sporting field and fall prevention in various settings. Currently researching ankle rehabilitation, he contributes to Bond University's clinical practice and tutoring while playing a vital role at Gold Coast Private Hospital. Holding a Doctor of Physiotherapy (DPT) from Bond University and a Bachelor of Exercise Science from Deakin University, Matt is certified in Western Dry Needling, Level One Strength and Conditioning and Level Two Sports Training. His extensive sports team involvement includes roles with Labrador Tigers, Australian Youth Wallabies Rugby, and more.

Dr. Darryn Marks

Dr. Darryn Marks, an APA Titled Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist, boasts over 25 years of experience, excelling in musculoskeletal and sports injury treatment. An Assistant Professor at Bond University, he conducts research on disorders and has presented internationally. Darryn, a former elite tennis player, led Orthopaedic and Neurosurgery Screening at Gold Coast hospitals. His extensive qualifications include a PhD, MBA, and expertise in prescribing medicines. Darryn offers second opinions and addresses complex musculoskeletal issues, particularly in shoulders, back/neck problems, and headaches.

Dr. James Furness

Dr. James Furness, Assistant Professor of Physiotherapy at Bond University, possesses over 15 years of clinical experience. He focuses on musculoskeletal physiotherapy and heads the Bond University Water-based Research Unit. A surfer and touch player, James emphasizes a holistic approach to treating conditions, incorporating hands-on techniques, exercise prescription, and psychologically informed physiotherapy. His qualifications include a Bachelor of Health Science, a Ph.D., and additional courses in clinical densitometry, dry needling, and Mulligan Concepts.

Kendal Sands

Knee Pain and Injury Post Surgical Rehabilitation

Originally from Vancouver, Canada, Kendal now considers herself a Gold Coaster as
it was too good to leave. She played NCAA collegiate basketball
competing in the USA. This is where she experienced an ACL injury that
gave her first-hand insight into the rehabilitation process.

Since her graduation from the Doctor of Physiotherapy program at Bond
University, she has completed a six-month internship with the Gold
Coast Knee Group and is currently being mentored by leading researchers
and experts in sports rehabilitation and musculoskeletal physiotherapy.

Her primary focus is on treating both acute and chronic musculoskeletal
injuries of the hip, knee, and ankle, with a special interest in
supporting court and running athletes. Outside of the clinic, Kendal
enjoys running and exploring new coffee shops along the coast.

Matt Fechner

Matt Fechner has had a long and varied career in Physiotherapy spanning over 20 years. Matt started as a new graduate at Pindara Physiotherapy and Sports Medicine where he remained for 10 years working with private clients and athletes.

Over that time, he has spent time with the Gold Coast Suns Talent Academy, Australian Baseball Team, The Gold Coast Blaze NBL team as well as a multitude of local and state level AFL, rugby league and rugby union teams. 

More recently Matt has spent time working in the occupational health space helping businesses create safe workplaces, improve culture, implement injury prevention strategies and better manage the injuries that do occur. 

Matt has now returned to consult out of the Bond Physiotherapy and Sports Medicine offices providing pre-employment medicals, early intervention programs and workers compensation services to businesses as well as treating private, EPC and insurance clients. 

Graham Marvin

Graham started as a strength and conditioning coach working with various collegiate and professional athletes. He spends his time working between Pindara, Runaway Bay, and is the Bond University Netball Physio. He is currently working on his PhD to help manage fatigue in firefighters and paramedics.

Advanced Vestibular Clinics (AVC) are vestibular physiotherapists deliver specialised, quality care to individuals experiencing dizziness, vertigo, or imbalance. All physiotherapists at AVC have undergone extensive and advanced training in vestibular rehabilitation.

Patrick Agussol

Remedial Massage


Patrick Agussol, a Remedial Massage Therapist, combines a passion for helping people with an active lifestyle. Originally from Milan, Italy, he races Stand Up Paddling competitively while working as a Massage Therapist. Patrick's qualifications include Certification IV & Diploma in Remedial Massage, deep tissue massage, sports massage, myofascial dry needling, cupping, sports taping and he is currently undertaking a Bachelor of Clinical Sciences (Osteopathic Studies).

With several years of experience under his belt, Patrick has become a sought-after expert in the field dedicating his skills and expertise as a soft tissue therapist for the Australian Kayak-Sprint team.

Susan Burns

Myotherapy Pilates

Susan Burns, a highly qualified Myotherapist, holds a Bachelor of Health Sciences in Myotherapy and additional certifications in Pilates and pediatric massage. With 15 years of experience, Susan has worked with elite sports teams like Richmond Football Club, Essendon Football Club, Melbourne Vixens netball team, and the Australian netball team. She is a Myotherapy Association Australia member, recognized by health funds, and balances her career with motherhood.

Podiatry

Ben Harcourt serves as the Principal Podiatrist at Gold Coast Foot Centres and consults at Bond Physiotherapy and Sports Medicine. Specializing in foot and lower limb conditions, he provides diagnosis, treatment, and prevention for patients of all ages, particularly those involved in sports. Ben is the Consultant Podiatrist for Gold Coast Titans, Gold Coast Suns AFL, Brisbane Lions AFL, Queensland Reds Rugby Union, and Queensland Firebirds Netball.
